Almost There...

Carter is almost 19 months, that is, which I might add, I cannot believe.  Pretty soon, he'll be TWO YEARS OLD.  Inconceivable!

On his list of accomplishments, lately Carter has been:

  • Watching tv (probably too much tv) -- The Wiggles, Sesame Street, Higgly Town Heroes, Bear in the Big Blue House;  Carter dances to The Wiggles, loves almost everything about Sesame Street, eats breakfast to Higgly Town Heroes
  • Running non-stop.
  • Falling down a bit
  • Talking more -- the jibber-jabbers are still there, but he does say things like "Wow" "Ball" "Cat" "Dog" "No" (one of his favorites; he drawls it out so it really sounds more like "Nnnnnooooooo")
  • Taking a bath in the adult bath tub
  • Giving out hugs and kisses
  • Tickling anything and everything

Not too bad considering he didn't become mobile until after his 1st birthday.  Updated pictures soon.....

Tickle, Tickle, Tickle

Tickling is Carter's favorite thing right now.  He'll come at you, wiggle his fingers, and say, "Tickle, tickle, tickle."  Well, it's supposed to be 'tickle' though it sounds more like "Tickle, ickle, ickle."  You get the idea.

What does he tickle?  E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!  He tickles the ground, his pacifier, Bert and Ernie, his little farm animals, Mommy, Daddy, Nana, the balls Saundra gave him for Christmas, I mean everything.  It's funny though, and I enjoy hearing him laugh.

His other new favorite are The Wiggles.  We watch them on Playhouse Disney (almost) every morning.  Carter's favorite Wiggle is Murray.  Whenever Murray appears, Carter laughs.  He also dances.  If I had to guess, I'd say his second favorite is Captain Feathersword.  While they do creep me out, their tunes are pretty darn catchy.

Currently watching:
The Muppet Movie - Kermit's 50th Anniversary Edition
Staring Jim Henson

Rough With Friends

It just doesn't seem possible that our sweet boy is rough with his friends but almost every day for the past two weeks, "rough with friends" has appeared on his daily report.  Is this a stage he's going through?  Have the Terrible Twos already come to Hanson Land?

:sigh:  I just don't know.

Daddy's Long Legs and Mommy's Lack of Grace

If you're familiar with the Hansons, you know that Travis (aka Daddy) has long legs.  you also know that Jana (aka Mommy) could fall down while standing still.  It seems that Carter has inherited both of these traits from his respective parents -- Daddy's long legs and Mommy's lack of grace (or klutziness).

Carter was apparently running full steam at preschool this week and fell down (twice).  The second bump has successfully covered the first.  Let's hope he can both feet on the ground.

Santa Claus Came to Town!!

Carter has had the best Christmas!! (Granted, it's only his second one, but I digress....)

Loads of toys, lots of laughs, some pretty good cookies -- I can only imagine what exciting things the new year will bring.

Thanksgiving Pictures

I think I speak for all of us when I say we are thankful for this little boy, no matter what kind of faces he makes.

Wuv. Twoo Wuv.

Carter has it bad for Bert and Ernie.  I swear, he carried Bert and Ernie (and his Harley Hog) around with him the entire weekend.  This morning, he had a fit in the preschool parking lot when Bert fell onto the ground and we could only take Ernie into school.  If only we could substitute his need for Bert and Ernie for his need for his pacifier......
